My friend and I happened to pass by Leona by coincidence and just went in and asked for a table. Later we overheard that it had apparently only been open for a weeks, and it seemed quite popular.
We only had main course and dessert here.
I chose trout with pea puree, pea sprouts and sour cream with lemon zest, priced at $25 (+ tax and tips), which was a very pleasant dish:
My friend chose braised short rib of beef with bone marrow, priced at $28 (+ tax and tips):
My dessert was “cereal for adults”, which was a bit of a strange concept. I can’t recall exactly what it was, but it included condensed milk. The waitress had urged me to try this. I didn’t dislike it, but if I could choose again, I would probably choose something more traditional.
My friend had a chocolate and caramel bar with a cream on the side. He called this among the ten best desserts he had ever had.
I didn’t keep the bill, and the desserts are not on the restaurants website, so unfortunately I can’t tell you the prices, and therefore I can’t say what the bill came to either.
The service was very good as well, and our waitress was very sweet and forthcoming.
Leona is a place I would be happy to dine at again.
